Chasing George Washington: A White House Adventure follows the journey of three diverse students on a field trip to the White House. While looking at the portraits of white, male presidents on the walls, they all have the same feeling that they don't belong there. Just as they reach that conclusion, George Washington falls out of his portrait and leads them around the White House, introducing them to historical figures such as Jackie Kennedy, Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln, Martin VanBuren, and Dolley Madison. Throughout their journey they learn that the White House is a home that belongs to everyone and each and every one of us has the opportunity to improve this country. All of the historical figures, having fallen out of their portraits, are hand painted to imitate the brush strokes on canvas and give the appearance of them being 2D portraits in a 3D world. Every character in this show is bright, colorful and dynamic to give a stark contrast against the plain, simple features of the White House.
